SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS FEATURED IN EPISODE OF MTV'S MADE ON DECEMBER 6TH

NAMED ONE OF ITUNES BEST ROCK ALBUMS - NEW ARTIST 2008

(New York, NY) - New York's most outrageous rock band, Semi Precious Weapons (SPW) will be featured in an hour long episode of the Emmy Award winning series MTV's MADE on December 6th (2:00 PM ET). Frontman, Justin Tranter, leads the band on a journey where they coach an aspiring teenager in the art of being a rock star, running an accessory business and working in the music industry. SPW was also just named on the iTunes Best of 2008 list for Best Rock Albums- New Artist.

The video for the band's first single, "Magnetic Baby," was filmed during MTV's MADE and the episode features the first look at the footage. The show also includes guest appearances by Mark Hoppus of Blink182/+44 and Panic at the Disco. MADE (http://made.mtv.com) chronicles the challenges and accomplishments that young people face as they attempt a life-changing transformation. To assist on their journey in accomplishing their "makeover", MTV (http://www.mtv.com) provides a coach who doubles as a mentor. The show airs on the heels of Semi Precious Weapons' debut album WE LOVE YOU, released on September 30th. Produced by the legendary Tony Visconti (T. Rex, David Bowie, and Morrissey), the album features 12 in-your-face, raw rock songs and is available in multiple formats: single CD, single CD with necklace, and double jewel case with limited edition gun USB jewelry necklace.

Known for their eccentric and unbelievable live shows, SPW recently performed at Perez Hilton's infamous CMJ showcase alongside Lady Gaga, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and appeared on E!'s "Chelsea Lately" show. The band has been featured in WWD, Zink Magazine, YRB Magazine, Venus Magazine, The New York Post, etc. Vogue has called SPW "a hot new sound for 2008…deliciously animated." Semi Precious Weapons is Justin Tranter (vocals), Stevy Pyne (guitar), Cole Whittle (bass), and Dan Crean (drums).

SPW will join San Francisco's electro-pop-rock outfit Von Iva and Myspace Records' Nico Vega for the Hell On Heels tour in January 2009 (tour dates listed below).
